Course Content:

Governing Authority papers are the primary mechanism through which the Governing Authority and its Committees receive information, make decisions, and exercise oversight. This session will prepare you to deliver high-quality, compelling and impactful papers to Governing Authority and its Committees.

Learning outcomes for participants will include:

  1. Understand the University's governance structures, and the purpose & importance of Governing Authority papers.
  2. Learn about the principles of effective board reporting.
  3. Gain insights into the categories, structure and format of papers, and the expectations for clarity, accountability, and strategic alignment.
  4. Refine your writing style and tone.
  5. Inform yourself regarding the University's submission protocols, approval pathways, and presentation standards to ensure that your submission supports informed decision-making and good governance.
  6. Familiarise yourself with the University's suite of board reporting templates.
